Ouch. Anonymity is the spiritual foundation of all our (the AA) traditions -- ever reminding us to place principles before personalities. Ouch. There is very good reason for anonymity in press and media. Ouch. It might be the best speech ever, and anonymity should have been maintained in sharing it. Ouch. SusanLauren

AA talks have been recorded for a LONNNNNNG time, including talks done by Bill and Dr Bob.

it's anonymity at the level of press, radio and film.......

and S.R.V. isn't alive anymore.

- maybe it shouldn't have been posted up on youtube but that's a matter for whomever posted it.

SRV is one of the best guitar players to come out of our generation and I remember when his last CD was released... how much clearer his music was... and some of the songs, wow... wall of denial was one.

He remains an inspiration, even after the tragic airplane crash that took his life...

Was he speaking to AA or was he promoting AA in the general press?... my connection is slooowww tonight

ouch - AA is fluid for a reason .. people are different

he has passed on and I am sure would rather continue to inspire sobriety than encourage people to use coke and whiskey like he used to do

Mark75, this is his personal story about drug and alcohol addiction and recovery. I'm pretty sure this wasn't recorded with out his express consent. I have always enjoyed his music, but listening to this really humanizes the guy. In particular the second part where he talks about anger and revenge really struck a chord with me (no pun intended).

Yeah, I had mixed emotions about this one. But hell, it's on there, and maybe we can draw inspiration from it. The first weekend of my sobriety I listened to his song "Tightrope" over and over. Great tune about sobriety.

RIP SRV
