Finally - something positive

My husband and I kicked our AS out five months ago and we hadn't heard a word from him - well on Wednesday I received an email from him and the very first sentence was "kicking me out was the best thing you ever could have done for me"! He enrolled himself in school and has been going for the past two months and his girlfriend, who he met when she was already pregnant had her baby. He and his girlfriend are living together and he wants to be the baby's father. Lastly, he said he has been clean for sometime. Also, he is working too.

First and foremost, I'm just so relieved to know that he is not sleeping on a park bench somewhere. I'm just thrilled to know he is alive and trying to make life work. My husband and I are taking it slow - but are very happy. We got to see him last night and this new little family and I have to say that he looks good. He sure loves his new little boy and he told me all about the birth etc.

I just wanted to share a little good news because I've had the opportunity so share so much frustration and sadness on this message board, plus gotten so much support. I will continue to work my program and take it one day at a time and post!

You all remain in my daily prayers....Kelly

That's wonderful news Kelly.

When we let go they may get worse before they get better or they may get better quickly...but the key thing is when we let go, they get to learn about good and bad choices all by themselves. I robbed my son of that lesson for too many years.

Keeping your boy and his new young family in my prayers. He sounds like he has turned a corner and is on a much better path.

Hugs

Kelly, thank you for sharing this wonderful news. It is a wonderful feeling when we realize that OUR letting go actually is the most beneficial thing we can do.

Hugs,
Chris

I am so happy for you! It is nice to hear something good. My DD's are only 4 and 10, I cannot imagine the courage it took you to cut off contact and the happiness it must bring back to you to hear this good news. I hope you have a wonderful weekend! God Bless!

Hi Kelly, That certainly was refreshing to read of some happiness...it took courage to turn your son out but this is a great ending and hopefully you can enjoy your family from this day forward. Thanks for sharing that. Smiles, Bonnie
