I'm not to proud to ask for help...
This is obviously my first time posting and even exploring this website, but I have decided in the last 4 hours that I can no longer do this on my own. I have decided this many times before. For some reason I feel this time is different! I have been through a lot in my short life of 23 years. But once again I have come to the turn in the road where I can not go any further without asking which way I really want to go. I know mentally I can not handle much more of living this life of crime, lies, and substance abuse. It's tearing me up as well as my many reinforcing relationships which I currently hold very close to my heart. I just really feel that I need people to talk to, that in no way, shape, or form will judge me. So we'll how this goes! Thanks for listening!
Glad you're here Sonni. Recovery can be a tough road at times but there are TONS of ppl here and where you live who've got some experience walking it and will be more than happy to show you what to do to make it bearable (at first), then worthwhile, and ultimately darn fun to do.
You've made a big step....you quit trying what hasn't worked (doing it yourself / in your head alone). You'll find that, no matter how despicable your past, there are plenty of ppl who've done the same........and worse......so who are we to judge?
Good job on reaching out.

SonniP - So glad you found us and are ready to reclaim your life. Wise of you to see that you can't continue on that path. I never saw what I was doing to myself when I was in my 20's. I was on a collision course, but in denial back then.
Having non-judgmental people to talk to - who have been where you've been - will help you not to feel alone anymore. We're glad you're here & we know you can do this!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes, it's much appreciated! I think today was already easier knowing that I have somewhere to turn to talk to someone! Thanks again for all the support so far, it's very comforting!
(((SonniP)) - let me add my welcome to SR!!
Three+ years ago I had relapsed on crack..hit a bottom lower than I thought I could. I've been in recovery ever since and SR has been a HUGE part of that.
We DO recover
Hugs and prayers!
