Day 8...I just found out I'm pregnant

I've been doing really well. Not tempted to pick up the bottle at all. My husband and I just found out today that I am pregnant. Just ANOTHER reason to Never Never drink again.

I must admit, I am a bit scared. I think I am about 5 weeks. 4 of those weeks I was still drinking (didn't know I was pregnant obviously). I hope everything is o.k. with the baby. I am terrified that I have done damage to our baby with my stupidity.

Need to talk to my SR friends.

Congratulations!! That's terrific news . I wouldn't worry too much, I have had quit a few friends who partied quite hard their first month because they didn't know & everything turned out fine. There's always risk whether u do a bunch, a little or none at all, but stressing could cause problems too. I see this as such great confirmation in your recent choice. It's sooo very amazing how things work out!

Hi happycamper

Not saying it's a good thing. but I think most people my age or older had their parents drink at least a little through pregnancy, most of us turned out ok...ish LOL

Do speak with your Dr though - you can't be too careful I reckon

D

Congrats to you HappyCamper!

I know everything is fine with the baby. I was at least three months pregnant until I found out and of course was drinking EVERY DAY! My son is just fine.

Things are going to be OK, HappyCamper - I drank until I found out I was pregnant, too. Not to worry. And congratulations, by the way!! Is this your first?

First of all, Big congratulations!!!

I wonder how many SR babies are around...

I am not a doctor, and I have no medical expertise whatsoever so read what I am saying through those lenses. I believe that for the first 2 weeks of pregnancy there is still no 'blood communication' between you and your baby. In the third week still very little blood is feeding the embryo. You will find information about it. So drinking in very early pregnancy is not that dangerous. It's like nature knows that the mother is unaware of pregnancy and therefore protects the baby from direct contact until the mother can take care of what she eats and drinks.

A fantastic motivation to stay clean! I have never craved a drink while pregnant. I hope this has the same super power on you.

Enjoy it!
