When Do The Dreams Stop?

Anyone have experience with this?

I am 11 months sober but keep having dreams that I drank. In my dreams I am usually around my family at a get-together and I give in and drink. not just a little - but the same old vodka bottle. They are so disturbing. I would have thought the dreams would have stopped by now.

22 months here... still get them occasionally, not as much, but they don't upset me at all anymore.

Hey. I get them occassionally. I had a really vivid drinking and drugging dream on Friday night. Woke up feeling a little weird. I never enjoy them and they are pretty messed up. It was mainly a drugging dream and I remember smoking a lot of drugs and doing a lot of Coke. I never enjoy them though and just feel anxious in them. I am always so glad when I wake and realise that I still am clean and sober. I actually use them as a reminder as to how sh*t it would be to go back out. All Positive if anything to be honest, though I don't give them any power at all. They are just dreams man.

14 months for me and pretty rare these days. Much more frequent during the first six months of my sobriety. Per Neo, try to focus on the positive, which is how great it feels to wake up clean and sober.

Hi Ellie...

Welcome to SR..and congrats on 11 months of sobriety. I have four plus years...and still
have the occasional drinking dream. They are not fun, and as others have said..just be
glad you are sober and it was only a dream.
