Made it to Day 9!!!

Hi everyone! I know 9 days isn't that long in the scheme of things but I haven't made it past day 5 in YEARS!! I know I have alot of work to do but I am so proud of myself especially since it was a holiday weekend. Lots of family and friends hanging out by the pool drinking. I actually didn't even feel the urge. I kept thinking about how much it would actually take to get me drunk and what I would feel like the next day. I opted to hangout with my nieces in the pool! I didn't realize how much I was missing out on by not really "being there" when I was drunk or hungover all of the time. I love my life and I want to keep living! I will fight for it one day at a time! Another positive thing...Lost 5 lbs already!

Awesome job! I think surviving a pool party is a huge step. Keep going!

Congratulations on 9 days. It's nice to be able to connect to people, rather than worrying about how much we're drinking or what others might be thinking about us. Thanks for reminding me of that!

Good for you for thinking through how you would feel the next day if you drank and for realizing how good it felt to really be there by not drinking.

That kind of recall will come in handy the better and better you feel when alcohol tends to rear its ugly head with, "Ah, just have one..."

As many will attest, it's never just one. Hold onto that.

I think your nieces will remember those special holiday memories in the pool with you too.
