Hello everybody
just writing about my 20 year old girlfriend. She is an alcoholic but is also bulimic. We have an 8 month old baby who I feE is going to grow up motherless. I've tried and tried to help but the more I do, the more I get pushed away.
Just wondered if anyone has any ways in which she can beat these illnesses because the only reason we are still a family is because of our daughter.
Thank you

Hi and Welcome,
I am sorry for your difficult situation.
I believe that your wife will need to want to seek support for herself before she can recover. Hopefully she will do that.
You can find support here for yourself. We do understand how hard this is.

Intervention saved my
life.
Family stepping in and
getting me help that i
so desperately needed
at that time in my life.
Phone calls to those who
are familiar with these
kinds of situations guided
my family in placing me
in the proper hands to
help.
I was angry at the time
this happened to me but
today im grateful.

Hi Unknown and welcome! You'll find alot of support and understanding here and I hope you check out the Friends and Family forum:
:Friends and Family of Alcoholics - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information
Those of us who have had addictions can relate to what you're saying about pushing others away who are trying to help. We are truly baffled ourselves and suffer alot of guilt and shame because we can't control our addiction. That makes us become more and more secretive and withdrawn.
Has she ever seen a psychiatrist or been to any kind of treatment? I hope she can get the help she needs. It sounds like you really care about her and your family. You may want to check into AlAnon or counseling for yourself to get through this. Glad you're here!
