Failed

I'm sorry. I've failed everyone and drank myself insensible again yesterday. Still drunk and hungover now. I think I'm going to need help to kick this.

We all have failed several times. Do not blame your past! Think presence and future! We are all here with you.

Snap! Me to. I'm back on day two. Don't give up, at least you were big enough to be honest! Keep posting.

Good that you are straight back Spikeman - don't be too hard on yourself but do use the slip as learning experience. It'll get better if you keep at it - all part of the process. Hey-ho and on we go just a day at a time.

Stu.

Thanks for your encouragement and support everyone. I think the time has come for me to go to an AA meeting or I'm just going to keep on drinking.

Getting support is crucial for most alcoholics to get and stay sober.

Hey Spike,

Don't be hard on yourself, almost nobody can do it without help it seems. Maybe think of this as what you needed to realise this, then go out and get some!

The worst thing would be to sit and brood over your 'failure' - it would only be such if you gave up.

Hang in there. Just get back up and go at it again using what you have learned from this to fuel your sobriety.

You can do it and yes, most of us fall down before we get it right but no matter what.....getting back up and trying harder is what is most important.

We are here for you and there are wonderful programs of recovery out there. Will power gets us to quit but support and recovery keep us sober.

All the best!

You can look at relapse as a failure or you can use relapse as a stepping stone to a strong program. I have 13 days clean today. It didnt start working for me until I stopped blaming myself and started blaming my disease. You didnt fail. You let your disease take over. Your only failure would be not standing back up after falling down. If a guy like me can stay clean for almost 2 weeks anyone can. Peace and love.

Keep on trying Spike, and don't worry about the slip, you're back, and willing to try again, that's what matters. AA is very helpful for me, SR is helpful too, but AA is my bedrock, I use SR to help me in between the meetings of AA. I appreciate your honesty, remember, honesty is the key to this working for you.
