The Saturday Plan

Well, I feel like I am starting today in the hole because I woke up at 0415, wishing I was still sleeping for another 3 hours. I have numerous sleep issues, so this is nothing new, but it makes me start the day grumpy when I feel like I was deprived of sleep, so this will need to be dealt with so it doesn't dictate the rest of my day.

The Friday plan almost skidded off path in the home stretch. My wife was having issues with her laptop last night. I'm no computer expert, but I am more technically competent than her so I am always expected to help. Between not being able to figure out the laptop problem and my wife's stream of chatter and questions I started to take a tone with her. Well, she'd previously warned me she'd had a wretched day at work, so my tone was met with a sharp rebuke and soon we were quarreling. Of course, I immediately check the clock to see what stores were still open - too late for the hard stuff, but I could still get beer or wine. Fortunately, I took a few deep breaths and left the room to go read a bit. She apologized later, but I haven't yet. I should do that this morning.

1. make and post the plan here on SR
2. find something to do quietly until 0700
3. wake wife, apologize, and hope that leads to staying in bed until 0800
4. get to bank
5. give son pep talk about his trip to Europe next week, make sure he has all he needs for that
6. send my newly licensed driver daughter on a few close-to-home errands (her first time driving alone is today!)
7. clean garage and work on my closet project
8. post pictures of my shop in the "men only" forum here (there's a thread for that)
9. Make a blog post
10. grill out for dinner, weather report very favorable
11. organize a date night with wife
12. investigate civic volunteering opportunities

Now that's a good plan..... especially the apology part being first.

I've held off on those in the past and maybe worked the first several things on my list instead but I'm grumpy and angry. Once I get that apology out of the way, the other things on my list go much much smoother. Imagine that?

1-3 complete. Apparently apologies are very attractive.

Well done good sir! You practiced AA's step 10 right there by making that apology. The rest of your day sounds pretty cool too.
