I am the Soberpaddy
Hey guys and gals and the others in between!
I call myself the sober Paddy as I am an Irishman who has recently given up drinking. I just joined this site as I am looking to get as much support as possible and hope to inspire others out there to keep stromg and follow their own path, not one others have chosen for them.
I am doing it not by twelve steps but with a simple, "don't drink each day philosophy". I am filling my life with ways to be which are non intoxicant related and am following that path as much as is possible.
I am charting my progress on a website and I would like people to have a look at it sometime and tell me what you think (see profile) - at the moment the only people who see it are friends and family and although they understand where I'm coming from, they have no real experience of how hard it is, and how deeply the battle wit haddiction runs.

I've been coming here since Feb/March and have gotten a tremendous amount of support, guidance, friendship, motivation and inspiration - so you've come to the right place! I'm on day 115 today and am also taking it day by day and can't believe how far I've come and the hurdles I've gone over...I wouldn't be where I am today if not for SR..
There are many Irish on here, including myself, so you'll bump into them along the way ;-)
