Good to have you back.

I had a few false starts too, but relapse doesn't have to be part of recovery. You actually never have to drink again.

What were you doing for your recovery before and why didn't it work? What's the plan now? If nothing changes, then nothing changes.

Ditto.

A relapse can be an event; it doesn't have to be a way of life.

Just as any bad experience might make us say, "I'll never do that again" so can be the case with a relapse.

What have you learned from your experience and how can you change things to prevent it from not happening again?

Glad you posted.

Hey LB, I used to drink because it rained...actually, even a drizzle would suffice.

....im retired now..competitive days are behind me...
While not a sport by any means, recovery can be your new ambition. It's been more rewarding for me than any marathon or match that I ever won.

And since it requires more of a mental workout than a physical one, age is never a requirement or a deterrent in reaching your goal.

Peace, Lazyboy

Had my share of woman troubles and seems like the best way to solve it is by drinking. Strange how that works out. I lost a Brother 3 years ago and the thought of drinking didn't cross my mind. Lat year I had to put one of my dogs down. And still avoided it. Have a fight with the little lady..BAM!!! Instant drunk!! And that's the way I've always handled women problems since I started drinking. Just like we have to re-learn how to live, we have to re-learn how to cope with the little lady when she's driving us nuts.

But that's awesome you were in the Strongman, sorry to hear about the bicep ripping. You need to stop by the health and fitness forums and say hello. I'll say you're probably the strongest guy in here but there's a few of us iron heads hanging around here who could use some pointers.

I started drinking when I met my ex......stayed drunk while with my ex.....got divorced and within a year cut back the drinking and finally found the courage to put the bottle down for the first time in almost 10 years. Those are the facts.....talk amongst yourselves (in my best Linda Richmond voice.)
