Day 5

This giving up drinking stuff is easy. All you have to do is catch a virus that has your throat burning, nose running, eyes watering, and fever. LOL I got sick, but I have to say it has helped with the cravings! I never thought I would be glad to get sick.

One thing I am noticing is the.....ahhhhh....morning salute shall we say. I am not trying to be in bad form, but I thought at 37 that stuff was over. Apparently it had to do with the poisoning of my body. Who needs Viagra, sobriety takes care of that!

Wow, colds and flu have frequently provided an excuse for me to drink more. "Medicinal use" and all that, har.

Great job getting to day 5 Winton, however you did it. I hope you keep going!

I'm on day 20 now and it wasn't until about day 10 that I started feeling much better. I rode a bike 50 miles today and if feels great not having to end the day with a bunch of alcohol like I usually would do. Also, probably wouldn't have rode 50 miles if I'd been drinking. (Too hungover on Sunday, of course.)

Yep be careful b.c of course if its a little virus or cold as soon as you get to feeling better you wont have changed a bit (sorry to be a downer) as far as your drinking issues b/c you wont have one any work or found any tools that work for you to maintain that sobriety.
Ill tell you I am on day 7 I full week today and it has been gard as hell. I know everyone is different and we all were/are dinking in different ways, amounts, beverages, times, of day, binging or not, blacking out or not, having hangover or not, ther eare so mant factors to take into consideration and anyone that wouldnt have said they were sick and said they were having this easy of a time I would have said wowo you are so lucky but now the work begins, and you didnt drink for the 5 days so I dont know why it should be any different for you, you go it and now the work begins but at least for a lot of people at day 5 they would at least have some tools or plans under their belt, a 12 step program, found their higher power, and found and used SR and read read read and posted posted piosted or at least lurked lurked and lurked.
I am not sure you have any of those toos, and that scares me a little, I at 7 days have been working extremelt hard, and although I dont htink hat my recovery and how hard I shoudl be workjing and the wat I am treating my body via nutrition etc is not up to par...but although I am not 100% comfortable or even close to a pro with any 3 of the areas I have chosen to use to help me with my sobriety, I know I have those tools and people on my side rootin for me and the support I need too.
When you say you got your 5 dayss by being sick it remind me of exactly how I feel after not eating for s week of the flu and losing 5 lbbs and knowinf FOR DAMN SURE that it will be back on in a few days b.c it was probably water weight from vomiting dirrehea (sorry TMI) but I hope you have a plan to continue your sobriety and are going to move as quickly as possibly to get a program and support that works for you, just as I should when I losse weight from havnig the flu but I go right back to my old habits b.c I havee not been taught new ones nor tried to do anyhting to keep the weight off.
I do hope you are able to continue your sobriety! Keep us poster and best of luck to you.l..were here if you need suggestions on what to do next b/c the majority of ushave been there and for me not too long ago at all
Take care of yourself...<3 Dream

I have only been sick for 2 days. The first 3 days SUCKED!! I find that fishing, playing baseball, football, etc. with my kids helps a lot. Any task or physical exercise seems to help. Being outside really seems to make me feel better.
