Hanging on to HOPE~~
I haven't posted in many months but I have been here reading and posting to others. If you all remember, its my son that is the addict in our lives. He has been to two rehabs and I think he has had enough. He's working hard, going to meetings every night and has a group of all new friends that are in recovery. He has been living with us and obeying every rule we have set down. So~~cross those fingers that life can stay calm and he can accomplish his dreams. Smiles, Bonnie

Japic~~I am taking care of myself. This lady has had enough counciling to run my own rehab......really wish I could for moms that were like me in the beginning. I had no clue!!!!!
Hey Bonnie,
What a great update. We do all we can to find peace when our adult kid is an addict, but
there is always that sadness just at the surface.
Eventually, many of us are lucky enough to witness our loved one get into recovery.
Then we get to be carefree again and truly have 100% of our thoughts redirected
(if we so choose). YEA ! Your turn is here.

Anvil~~He's 35 and has had some rough years. Not all involving drugs. Lost a child he thought was his and it was downhill from there. He has finally dwelt with that and is now centering on getting healthy and productive. He has his own construction company and has done things the right way this time.....accountant and all........I certainly would like to see him with a story like yours in the end......Let's HOPE!!! Smiles~
BBD, I posted earlier about an old friend who's been clean for 14 years now. He finally got clean around the age of 31. It takes what it takes. He has his own family and business now, too. I know his family went through hell with him but they never gave up hope. I'm raising my glass of diet sprite in a toast to your son, that he's another miracle too

Thanks Chino.....I read your post and was so happy to hear what you had to say about your friend. I'm keeping my fingers crossed here cause if he fails he will loose alot. How's your daughter doing??
My RAD is taking it one day at a time, including cleaning up the damage from that other life. Like every recovering addict out there, she got tired of that way of life and somehow managed to survive it. She's taken up again with old good friends and is very blessed they're full of hope, too.
Hope is all we really have and thankfully it's contagious if we want it

Bonnie,
Good news!
Boy, would I like a room at that rehab - I'd stay for the duration, do all that I was told to do and try to absorb as much as possible, all while focusing on me, me, me. What a wonderful concept.
