Wishy Washy Emotional Wreck Conquers!!!
Yes this wishy washy emotional wreck with the help of the God of my understanding and ALL of your prayers, support and love - made it thru that wonderful meeting Friday nite . . .
AND Yes it was a wonderful meeting!!
Ash was so beautiful - so peaceful, so brave and so best of ALL CLEAN AND SOBER!!!!!!!
It was packed with lots of members - AA and Al-Anon - a few of her other family members came too (I was so happy for her)
A precious old-timer, Pete (my exAH's old sponsor) who was giving another old-timer his 32 yr sobriety chip - made a comment to Ash - congratulating her on her first year~
He said "Ash, you, I and another person here (he looked straight at me) we know that there is one more person that if he was able - he would have liked to have been here too, but he just can't right now and maybe some day he will"
I looked at Ash, she had tears in her eyes - oh well so did I.
We knew he was talking about my ex and Ash's dad.
The healthy compassion that I have learned in this program allowed me to know and feel that~ yes if my ex was in a healthier place - he so would have been so proud to have been at that meeting Friday nite to watch Ash get her 1 yr chip. She would have been thrilled to have had him there. But she is also finally healthy enough to know - her father has to walk his own path and she loves herself enough to walk hers, even if he won't.
It was a good nite - I felt your strength and prayers!
It was great to see some people - there were some it will probably be ok if I don't ever see them again.
Most of all - I'm grateful I was able to be there for that beautiful young woman, Ashley!!!!
What a great gift I was given!!
Thanks for the encouragement so I didn't miss it!!!
In case anyone hasn't told you today ~ YOU ARE THE BEST!!!
Love & PINK HUGS,
Rita
