Just a touch base

I have been reading pretty much every day, and it is amazing how many of us are going through the same thing. My situation is that I have cut back to 4-6 beers a day for weeks now, I have been drinking with very short periods of sobriety for over 20 yrs. Detoxed last year inpatient and had severe wd symptoms for 3-4 days- relapsed after a few months. Fast forward to now- Until I 'cut back' I was drinking around 5-8 each night during the week, then 12 each day/night on the weekends. Started to feel awful on Mondays and sometime into Tuesday- the hangovers get worse, I am not sure they are even hangovers- it feels like psychosis! Well I have decided, once again, to stop the madness. Going for day one today again. Thanks for being here.
Peace and Love
Dub

Going for day one today again.
So glad to hear it! It's worth the effort, as you well know. I wish you safety and success.

Hi Dedubya,

Thanks for the post, its refreshing to read about other people in a similar situation and not being alone in this mess. I am on day 3 and I feel quite messed up too. What I know in my heart and soul is that there must be a way of stopping as many others have done, so it is not impossible. The one ingredient needed is belief. And I think even the very weak can learn how to believe over time

I'm on Day 5. I decided to "Just do it" after messing around for so long. No more excuses, no more drinking. I feel better, like a million times. Hope you can do it, too.

It's never too late until it's too late. That's why I decided I'd better get really, really serious this time. Thanks for the post - it reminds me that there's no point in ever thinking about another drink, because it will only get worse from here. Congratulations on coming back!!

Just remember, for today you have that chance at a new sobriety. You may not have that chance tomorrow!!

(((Dubs))))

Please take care of yourself. You're worth it, your family is worth it. I don't about you but I don't have another recovery in me. Please take care of business before it's too late.

Much love,

Lenina
