Recovery_Haiku_/_Please_join_in
I’m feeling a bit off today, so instead of my normal "I'm having a tough day!" posts, thought I’d try something new.
Please join in and create a recovery Haiku!
A haiku is a non-rhymed verse genre. There are 5 syllables in the first sentence, 7 in the second and 5 again in the last sentence.
(my attempt)
Spent most of my life
In silly smile and fog, oh…
my! Ego brings pain.

How do i do it?
A psychic change is needed,
they exclaimed to me!
I do not get it!
Let your sponsor show you how,
work the steps with them
I am not sure though
Cannot i just join a gym
and read some good books?
No that will not work
Insanity is your cross
Your thinking is screwed
You stand on a road
With different routes to go
Choose wisely my friend!
So which way is it?
Will it be sobriety?
Or to end up ******!

Hooked me in with the poetry thing... let me give it a try:
Its been two years now
Since the day I lost my love
Clean today again
I will have four months clean on the 10th. I had 15 years sobriety when grief took me out. Was not worth the research, and never really grieved while self-medicating/diverting my attention from the task at hand. Played a bad game: "Can't beat 'em join 'em".... threw the pieces of that sucker away!!
