Hi, I'm new!
My name is Kati, and I am an addict. 
I am new to recovery. I came to NA in March seeking help for my DXM abuse, but I did not take it seriously. I relapsed and went to rehab, and recently got a month clean, only to relapse again (not on my drug of choice, but I impulsively took a bunch of meds from the medicine cabinet. My husband keeps them locked up now). I am now in NA though, I have a sponsor, and I am working the steps, and I am getting stronger in my recovery every day, and I know that they are always there for me, and no matter how many times I relapse, I can always go back (not that I am planning any more relapses, lol!)
I am 23, in college, and have a husband and 20 month old son. We are moving into our new house (from a cheap apartment) in about a week, and I am looking forward to that change.
Looking forward to 'meeting' you all!

like you here in SR I havent found
it necessary to pick up a drink of
Alcohol since 8-11-90.
For that and you I am truely grateful.
As i look back when my family pulled
an intervention on me in Aug. 1990,
sending me to rehab, today that was
them doing for me what i couldnt
do for myself. To get me help I so
desperately needed.
Today, i look at what transpired at
that time in my life. I spent 28 days
as my own request so i wouldnt be
sent away to a halfway house away
from my family.
I took the tools and knowledge of
my alcoholism and was set on a path
of recovery following the steps and
principles set down before us in AA
and for u NA.
I listened to every word i heard and
even tho not much made sense at
that time about recovery, i kept
going and followed suggestions
by many who had been on the
path for many one days at a time
before me.
The more i heard and the more i
continued to be willing then I too
have collected a few 1 days at a time.
If the "old-timers" did what was
suggested to them and stayed sober
then this program of recovery must
work.
I just had to remember that my will
never worked, so i had to hold on
to many that stayed sober and be
prepared for the promises to come
true for me sooner or later.
Those promises have come true as
I can honestly say today.
