I have an alcoholic boyfriend - have talked to him extensively about avoiding taking care of him, worrying about myself instead of him, going to Al-Anon and sharing with him what I've learned, etc. It's a struggle much of the time and I'm sure some day we will end because it is so difficult. This past Saturday I was fretting because he was drinking at an unexpected time. He shot me this e-mail:

Don't forget about yourself. take care of YOU, don't ever forget.... I am, just do it in an odd manner.

My ABF reminding ME to take care of MYSELF and that he is taking care of himself ! How priceless is that? I just wanted to share - this was a gift from the place I least expected it.

Don't know if he will or not, but the point is - I just need to worry about myself and let him worry about himself. Sad that I needed him to point it out to me!
