oh yah...i read "drinking a love story" also....great memoir.
yes the million little pieces turned out to be a hoax, but it was a great read for me personally (and I didn't know that it was a hoax when I read it)

Thanks for the suggestions. To add on a couple: I haven't read this one yet -- _Lit_ by Mary Karr -- but it's been recommended to me. Anne Lamott often writes poignantly and humorously about her dealings with alcoholism.
