Cool Back again!

2 weeks sober time! I had almost 2 years but have had a few slip ups, thankfully I don't seem to be dependant again - but I know if I continue I will be again, and I will be helpless. Time to STOP and STAY STOPPED!

Welcome back RK! Good to see you trying again. Sobriety is worth the effort, as you well know. I'm glad you're back. :ghug3

Hi RK,

Good to see you!

This disease is relentless, isn't it! I'm glad you have turned things around for yourself.

Thank you for coming back and its good. I'm talking about your message. I'm approaching 2 years and I have noticed little thoughts returning. This thread has helped.

Welcome back!! Hugs - Sarah

Hi RK! I once had 3 yrs. & started up again leading to 7 yrs. of chaos. This time, I've reached 2 yrs. 3 mos. & I don't see me ever taking a chance again. (Thanks to SR and the fear of dying!) This time I'm happy & content with my decision, not resentful. I'm glad you came back to us!

Welcome back to you both, RK and Zebra.

The insidiousness of addiction and alcoholism never ceases to amaze me. It doesn't matter how little or long amount of sober time that we have, what color we are, where we're from, what we do or don't do for work, how much or how little we have in the bank...

There doesn't even need to be a 'reason' to justify or rationalize why we pick up again. Alcohol does not discriminate and has one fatal goal in mind.

I know that I've had my share of stinkin' thinkin' and am guessing that you both saved someone from picking up again with this thread. Thank you for that and the reminder to not become complacent.

Thx for posting RK. I feel the same way after the last few weeks. It started slow and then whammm right on it so I agree with all of you that we can not be complacent. This post made me reflect on the fact that maybe what happened this week was necessary so I did not go down the wrong path. It definitely was a reality check that I will never be able to drink just one.

Best wishes to all!!!

Kim

Thanks HumbleBee,
Could never of said that any better.

Welcome back.
I had over 5 years, then relasped for 2 days and will soon have 9 months.
ODAAT seems to work for me.

Thankyou for your input everybody. Including, BTW, my old friends Dee, RZ, Nands and Hevyn - who's company saw me through some of the darkest times in my life (along with all the rest of my friends in the bottoms thread).
