I'm passing this on to our Forum - thanks to the posts by Ann and Carol elsewhere

If anyone receives an e-mail from anyone saying they are the founder of SoberRecovery and asking for money - please let Admin know as soon as possible and DO NOT RESPOND.

We operate here under a grant, and the owners would never do that.

Please remember - do not ever post personal information - this is the internet and predators should not have any personal information on members.

If you ever get a PM or an e-mail that is out of line or questionable in any way, please do not delete them but forward them instead to me or any of the admins or moderators here. We sometimes get a complaint but can't do much about it if we don't have a copy to work from.

We're here to ensure that SR remains a safe and friendly site, and it is only when you, the members, let us know there is a problem, that we can try to address it.

Can't SR send a PM to every member to this effect, or else put up a banner saying "we never solicit for money" etc.? Or both? It seems to me we could be more aggressive in getting the word out.

I think the response is appropriate, Dg. I'm more than happy to follow Ann Carol and MG's lead here.

I thought it was also a good opportunity to remind all our members to send anything dodgy to Admin.

and...I have great faith in the SR grapevine
