Prayer and Rising
This morning brought a more profound experience with Step Three than I have heretofore experienced. I saw that my pattern has been to get ahead of God--to lead and expect Him to follow--in the end, missing him entirely and wading back into the bottle.
It has been difficult for me to get out of bed lately. I wait until the sun is up and I absolutely must get on with the day. That leaves little time for prayer and meditation. This morning, I set an alarm and got up at 0500. I spent one half hour in prayer; now, I can sit down and read until daylight, then take a brisk walk.
God is good--when I stay close to Him and do His work.
