Cyclone Ului heading my way
Cyclone Ului heading my way
Hi everybody, we are getting ready for Cyclone Ului which is heading for our coast and towards my area. Should have a better idea where it will hit by Saturday, but we have had the strong winds and heavy rain showers already, and this on top of weeks of soaking rains.
If this keeps up I will have web feet, and start growing mould and mildew on my body.
Your prayers and thoughts would be more than appreciated right now.
Thanks and God bless

Adding you to my prayers immediately. I don't think your HP would let anything happen to you, given the good you give out each and every day. Hopefully the storm will veer off course a wee bit and you are kept safe.
I'm down near Bellingen & I can empathize with the web feet & mould & mildew issues!
We've had 6 or is it 7 floods in the last 12 months & because of where I live I've had several minor ones on top of that. The whole Nambucca Valley has been declared a natural disaster zone twice! And it's still raining as I write ....
Ului is an unusual name. I thought they were all given women's names?
I hope you've got plenty of supplies in the house so you don't need to go out in the abysmal weather for anything.
Fingers crossed it looses some strength before it crosses the coast.

Thats the way the do it in the states, named after women alphabetically.
and that is an interesting name.
Jadmack best of luck and get out of there if you can.
Thanks to you all for your words and prayers. Have finished packing away garden gear in new shed RABF finished this morning, and Lord...please let my passionfruit vine get thru this intact...there are 30 lovely golden fruit on it.
Have the tinned soups, fruits and fish lined up, 15 litres of filtered water, a tub for rainwater, battery radio, 2 lamps, torch, first aid kit, 2 burner stove, camping gear, spare mobile phone battery, emergency bag for me, tarpaulin, and esky ready.
About to put packing tape on windows and glass doors. Hate that as so darn hard to get off when it has finished. Then it is sit back and hope it passes by, out to sea.
Still Waters has been there and done it before, and this is my 33 year here so have been blown about a bit, and had some huge rainfall over the years, I mean in feet not inches in a matter of a couple of days.
By the way cyclone, tornado are virtually the same thing, with our cyclones eye covering miles, and the wind gusts and rain affecting places within 500 miles of the centre. Last one that came up here flattened all the banana and sugar cane farms, and nearly wiped a couple of towns off the map, even smashed a swathe thru the Great Barrier Reef.
We take it in turns for names, male and female, but this was named in Vanuatu or Fiji where it began a week or more back, so what Uliu means....I don't know.
I will stay online until it gets interesting and then shut down, hopefully to re-emerge in one piece.
Hmm, as I typed that, the wind picked up and it is getting stronger, plus the black sky isn't none too welcoming. Need to move the car right up close to the wall, and pray it is ok.
Thanks all, and will make contact later.
God bless
