9 months.
Hi all, haven't been around much. Got 9 months a few days ago. I've admittedly slacked a little in my recovery, but i'm still clean and doing well. Just went through hernia surgery. It went well but i was a little concerned about the pain meds. I will admit i did enjoy the feeling, but when they were gone it didn't seem like a big deal. I had someone at my meeting tell me not to be the "tough" guy and just take them. I'm glad i did because even with them i was in pretty serious pain. Still employed and still staying out of my own way and listening for the answers before making any decisions. I've had a couple opportunities for advancements and passed because i've learned more money isn't the key to me being happy. When the right opportunity comes i'll know it. The last one was really good money and very close to where i live, but it was also 9:30 P.M. to 5:30 A.M. and included weekends. It's really nice not to have to worry about making decisions all by myself anymore. Now i always ask "What should i do?" and wait until i know. The answer usually comes quickly and almost always goes against what my knee jerk reaction would have told me. It still amazes me how well things go when i simply step aside and let them happen.
Congratulations, Tim!
You ((sound)) calm and grateful - your recovery journey is inspiring.
I also found that really liking what I DO is more important than how much I MAKE - been there, done that, like you.
Also found that the last time I checked, God wasn't looking for an assistant so I try not to control things that I have no business controlling.
