Question About Advice

What is a term for people who constantly dole out unsolicited advice? If you say no thanks to their "guidance," then they insist that they are just giving you their opinion. What is that called?

From an alanon friend: "Yenta."

That reminds me. My daughter says that her dad's girlfriend has decided not to try to tell me how to be a parent anymore-- instead she's going to let me "figure it out on my own." Thanks HP, coincidence, the great cosmic muffin, or whomever, for small blessings.

Some people can't listen to someone talk about their troubles without trying to offer a solution. It's best to stop telling someone like that the gory details of your life. That's a "let's go to the movies" friend, not a "spill your guts for good feedback" kind of friend.

Hey look - I just tried to solve your problem. yukyukyuk

I don't know of a technical term specific to that one trait, but I know I'm a codependent and I can relate.

[OK, really silly goofy me-time now: haha I'm a poet: "trait" & "relate":rotfxko]

Oh geez. And those 2 posts above me weren't even here when I was typing this!
