New to Forum
My name is Tom, a recovering alcoholic and new to this forum. Nice to find a support group online. I'm 53 and have drank since I was a teenager. Longest stretch of sobriety was about three years in the early nineties. Went three months last summer and now making another attempt. On my third day and really enjoying being sober. I enjoy being sober but still tempted to drink....crazy, Such is the disease. Thanks
Thank you for the kind welcome. The last time I was sober I was still smoking cigerettes so I had something to fall on. Now....well, I just read, seach the internet and excercise. Can't wait to workout in the morning..that is such a release..I'll stop my rambling now...thanks again for the welcome..
Congratulations, Tom - it's very hard to give up a life long drinking habit. I literally had to learn to live again, differently. I used booze for all occasions. It nearly did me in.
I found SR to be wonderful help - such a diverse group with many opinions. I had my eyes opened, and no longer felt alone with my nightmare & dirty little secrets. Everyone else had them too, and managed to rise above it.
Let us know how it's going for you.
