Thumbs up TOPIC: Kids Inhaling and Snorting WHAT?

Hi Im Sharon and Im an Alcoholic.

By the grace of my HP and people
like you here in SR I havent found
it necessary to pick up a drink of
"POISON" since 8-11-90.

For that and u I am truely grateful.

I heard something on the radio
that maybe shouldnt have surprised
me but it did.

It's the new fad with kids today.

Inhaling and snorting CANDY.

What u say.....

Yep....crushing tarts into powder
to inhale it or snort it....just like
the real thing.

Goodness......

This may lead kids later
on in life developing a dangerous
habit of using the real macoy.

My drug of choice is alcohol so
anything with pills or powders
scare me to death.

Kids using this techneque of snorting
or inhaling can lead to consequenses.

Infection in their throats and noses
along with maggits developing from the
sugar in their noses. YUK...!

There's nothing new under the sun.

We used to snort sherbet, smoke candy cigs and drink ginger beer cos it came in 'stubbies' (beer type bottles)

Kids will always emulate their folks or do what they think is 'cool'. We need to show some leadership.

In the end I think we shouldn't panic - maybe I'm not the best example for it being 'just a fad', but I know many of my mates who did the same things grew up to have non addictive lives.

D

Thanks guys for sharing ur thoughts. It's
always much appreciated.

I now remember just chatting about
pretend smoking those candy cigs
in our early childhood.

I think what alerted me was hearing
the consequences of candy poping
or candy inhaling. Kids ending up in
the doctors office or hospital for ex-
cessive use of pretend playing.

Kids wanting to be cool and parrot-
older folks.

Ur right, we need to set better
examples for the younger gener-
ation. Or explaining the consequences
of their behaviors so it wont lead
to harsher habits down the road.

Get kids involved in more rewarding
programs like music, the arts or
ur own choice to help better prepare
them for what lies ahead of them
in the future.

We are their mentors. Show leadership
for a better tomorrow.

I had a friend who used to snort pixie sticks.

He was a strange one, but turned out okay.
