Unhappy Newbie and feel so depressed

I am so out of control. I have been drinking about 2 to three boxes a wine a week for almost 6 years. I met my hubby and moved out of state for employment. Left my kids (they were older), left family and friends. Between both of us, we have lost around 5 jobs. Hubby just lost another job last July. I feel so isolated and sad. Hubby won't speak to me because I had an alcoholic rage last Tuesday. I screamed, yelled and put him down. I keep crying and have been very sick for almost 6 months, broken blood vessel in my lung, high blood pressure, asthma attacks and several hospitalizations. I am at the end of my rope. Drinking kills the pain and gives me something to do at night besides watching t.v. or watching my husband be depressed because he is trying to start a business but hardly any luck. We can't move back to our home state because of being stuck in our home, (we declared bankruptcy last year) and you need good credit to even rent a home now. Help.......I am tired of crying all of the time.

Welcome! Glad you are here. You are not alone. There is hope! Recovery is possible! This is a great place for support! Have you tried to stop drinking before? If so, what programs have you tried--treatment center, AA meetings or other type recovery groups?

Hi and Welcome,

I am sorry to hear your situation is so difficult right now.

I know from my experience, that I thought alcohol would help to get through a tough time. It didn't. It took my problems and made them so much worse that I almost lost everything.

There is lots of support here, so keep reading and posting.

Welcome to SR! I hope you will come here for support. We're here to help you get and stay sober. Have you considered any kind of recovery program? There are lots of them. AA is the most well known. Some people here have quit drinking using only Sober Recovery as their 'program'. THere are many ways to get and stay sober. I hope you find the way that's right for you.

Hi and welcome.

Why don't you call AA and get to a meeting. You will not be alone there. They have a solution......life doesn't have to be like this.

You will also get lots of face to face support with people who understand exactly how bad you are feeling right now. I hope you make that call.
