Divine intervention... or just dumb luck?
Tonight is my friends' engagement party. I had some reservations about going, since the party is open bar and all my old drinking crew are going to be there. Then on Thursday I found out I had to work tonight and could not make the party after all. So instead, I am spending the night bouncing back and forth between my home computer and my work computer.
It's been a long while since I have seen some of the people who will be there, so I was kind of bummed that I had to miss it. But in the end I took it as a sign that I was not ready yet to go to an event like that.

Had it happened to me....I'd consider it a God Shot!
I was shocked to see how little I had in common
with past drinking acquaintances ...once I quit.
Alcohol blurrs reality.

It is a pretty good feeling to wake up without the full blown hangover. I'm a bit sleepy after being up working until 2:00 in the morning. But, I still managed to wake up relatively early and with a reserve of energy I would not have had if I had gone out and gotten wasted. I guess this has turned out to be one of those life lessons that I was meant to learn.
The universe also gave us here a sunny day with a bright blue sky. I was able to throw on a coat and get out there for a really nice walk. The wind was bitter, but the sun on my face felt great!
