I noticed since being on methadone I have lost my outgoing personality, confidence is low. I feel embarrassed for being on methadone maintenance.
I have to add that being on MM I am remaing clean from narcotics, holding a job, paying bills. It really has saved me from a horrible past life.

I'm thinking that attending Methadone meetings will help me open up slightly and become much more friendly and gain back the confidence I once had.

Any help would be joyful!

Definitely get along to a meeting of either of those groups, even an open AA meeting. Many people have multiple addictions and attend more than one 12 step group. Going to AA was the best decision i have ever made. I know it's not for everyone but it saved my life. I tried a LOT of different meetings until I found a few that I really liked and I go to those regularly.

Yes please go to any meeting you can so I don't have to type a wall of text about how fabulous they are.

Go to as many as you can.
Go as often as you can.
Go to as many different ones as you can.
Go and keep going, like forever.
Don't let anyone or anything stop you.
Keep going no matter what.
Keep going back.
Don't miss any meetings.
Go when you feel like it and when you don't, and the best time is in-between.

There's lots of people just exactly like you who need you there.
