Checking in for the holidays ...
Hi all!
I haven't been around the site much lately -- my computer crashed about six weeks ago, and I got a new one from work and was being more careful about what sites I visit. But it's the holidays, and I'm feeling the urge to drink, so I thought I'd check in.
I just passed the three month sobriety mark, and have been doing pretty well. Had a dream the other night that I was drunk off cheap beer. Pretty lame. And with all the holiday celebrations going on, I'd really like to partake again. But I'm back to taking it one day at a time, and seeing how it goes from there.
I'm trying to focus on gratitude this Christmas, and I have so much to be thankful for. Easy to say my family, my job and my house, but I'm also thankful for this calm feeling that's come over me since I got sober. I've been slowly lowering my dose of Prozac, too, and feeling just as calm and even keeled as when I'm taking it daily.
And I'm thankful for all of you. You really helped me get through an intense early sobriety period. I may not be around daily, but I still come back to read emails and find this site very grounding and helpful.
Best,
PL

Congrats on 90 days Penny, and thanks for checking in. Merry Christmas to you, it can be the best ever without a single drop of alcohol, especially cheap beer!
