Im trying to build a list of positive affirmations I/we could use. Here are a couple I came up with.

I can not control other peoples feelings or interactions with me.

Let go Let God

Don't be anything but who you are.

Those who mind don't matter and those matter don't mind.

These are hanging on my wall this week.

Love the positive messages. Great thread!!

* I am an important and valuable human being, and I deserve to be respected by others.

* I am eager to go through a greater level of self esteem. I am worthy of it and I am prepared for it.

* I am confident about life; I always long for and enjoy new challenges.

* I am a unique person and a creative individual.

* As I build up my self esteem, I feel better about self, my work, my relationships, and every aspect of my life.

* I am actively in control of my life and lead it in productive channels.

* I take time to get to know myself and I treat myself with respect.

* I feel valuable even if I am aware that I have made a mistake.

* I am an action person, and I define my priorities and do things one at a time.

* I take compliments without doubt and give them readily to others.

WizDeb, thank you for this thread. It was thought provoking for me because I had trouble coming up with any positive affirmations. This tells me I have a lot of work to do, which is ok. Just a good reality check!

I went to ITunes and downloaded some free affirmations to my Ipod. I listen to them while I work out. Even if I don't pay attention, it makes me feel better somehow. thanks for the affirmations.

I read you need to avoid "not" or "cant" in affirmations

I can not control other peoples feelings or interactions with me.
could be > "I can control my feelings and interactions with others"

Don't be anything but who you are.

could be> Be everything you are.

Just something I read not trying to bug you LOL

I like:

Its all for the greater good

god loves me very much

god knows my heart and my path, my good and bad moments

god knows everything i have gone through

i am a free soul

i represent love and compassion (the GOOD kind..)

i am free

i love and am loved back

nothing is lacking

i trust divine justice... (this is when i thirst for revenge lol..)

i know better now

i am where i am supposed to be

its ok to feel __________

this too shall pass

My lifesavers:
(all from Louise Hay whose little book Heal Your Body has been within reach by my bedside for like 10 years now!!)

I am safe, all is well.

The past is gone, I am free in this moment.

I now choose a peaceful, joyous future.

Trust the process of life.

I love and approve of myself. I take loving care of my mind and body. I fill my home with the vibration of love.

peace--

This can apply to anyone:

I love these! Louise Hay has permanent residence next to my bed too.
At the moment I'm working on :
I deserve the best in life
I deserve to be here.
I deserve to be loved
I am beautiful. I am intelligent. I am competent. I am strong. I am worthwhile. I am number one in my life. I forgive. I trust.
(this last one given to me by an acupuncturist a few years back, and I say it all together. It never fails to lift me).

Let me apologize first off; the devil's makin' me do this.............

Positive (?) Affirmations.....? Isn't that a wee bit redundant? Is there such a thing as a negative affirmation? No need to answer those questions; they're rhetorical..... (ps, just for fun, the answers would be......: yes and no. Affirmations, by their definition alone, are positive assertions.
