Heartbroken for nephew
Just three months ago my 18-year-old nephew stood up in front of my brother's treatment group and said how proud he was of his Dad for completing the program and that he believed his Dad would never drink again. Today I saw a plaintive facebook posting from nephew on his Dad's page, asking him to give him a call. He doesn't know, but I do, that Dad is in detox.
It's my brother's responsibility to let his kid know he's gone off the rails again, but I know he won't. One of us will end up having to do it. Again.

Why does it have to be you?
You have the power to stop the cycle of cleaning up his mess.
If the nephew contacts you and asks you specifically about his father, by all means tell the truth.
