Asking for some prayers for my oldest dog and me.
It's time for Raven, and I'm leaving in an hour to have her euthanized. I will be there with her, and hope her passing is peaceful.
I have been incredibly blessed to have her with me for over 4 1/2 years now, when my vet gave only gave her a year on the meds for congestive heart failure because she was in such bad shape when AD brought her to my house. I told AD enough was enough, and Raven was here to stay for the remainder of her life. She had been drug all over the country and back.
She turned 16 1/2 in October.
This marks 3 dogs in my household this year...Pikachu, my little wire-haired terrier in February to cancer, Toby (Amber's dog) to kidney disease just a few weeks ago, and now Raven.
Please think good thoughts and send prayers our way.

So so sorry Freedom. I know how much you love your animals, your "zoo". Having a dog that long is like loosing a family member and I hate that you are having to do this today.
God Bless You. I hope you are able to come home and have a good cry! You deserve it after loosing 3 pets just this year. It's too much.

Hugs and prayers from across the ocean.
This is one of the hardest things.. I´ve buried two cats and one dog.
I´m sure Raven is with you.
Wishing you much strength.

I'm praying for you and your dog. Your dog will be waiting for you. I lost my dog to cancer this year and it is so hard.
A heart of gold stopped beating,
Two shining eyes at rest.
God broke my heart to prove,
He only takes the best.
God knows you had to leave me,
But you did not go alone.
For part of me went with you
The day he took you home.
Praying for you guys!!

Freedom I'm so sorry. I haven't posted as much on here in the last couple of months and although I have dipped in and out I didn't know about Amber. And in fact I was thinking about her the other day while in the car which was why I came back online a couple of days ago.
Losing an animal is hard. I remember when my first dog Sheba died I took a week off school!!!! I haven't found losing pets any easier since getting older. Cried when my second dog Heidi died. I was on holiday at the time, the guilt haunts me to this day! She said a prolonged goodbye to me in the couple of days before. I had no idea it would be the last time I'd see her but somehow I think she knew. I know that sounds weird, but when I look back she was more clingy than usual.
And my cat Wispy died in early 2008. She was six months off her 21st birthday and I'd had her since I was 13. I was at my xabf's house at the time. We were watching the TV in bed when my dad rang and told me. Came off the phone and cried in xabf's arms for ages. To be fair he was an absolute star and made me laugh within minutes. He really did cheer me up! (He used to call her Keith Richards as in the Rolling Stone) so he decided to raise his can to 'Keith'!!
Anyway Freedom my thoughts and prayers are with you XXXX
