Well, congratulations on throwing me for a loop.
I guess my best answer would be, if you have to ask this question (ie, don't come pre-equipped with a Higher Power), take it slow... Just making something up/ assigning something to the title/ whatever, it won't do you any good in the long run. This is something you need to be honest about with *yourself* first/foremost. 'Cause in the end it doesn't matter to anyone else...
That being said, what makes you toe the line? I reckon that'd be your Higher Power...

First off, you do not have to pick a higher power to begin working a 12 step program. Step 3 says "came to believe", not "believes". This is a process, not a singular event. All you have to do is believe that there is some power greater than yourself. As you continue your sobriety one day at a time, and practice AA/NA principles in all your affairs, your understanding of yourself, and of your higher power, will greatly increase.
If you are in AA, I suggest you read pages 44 thru 46 of the big book.

Welcome to SR. I don't have what I consider a "higher power", and I certainly don't feel the need to make one up or find one.. I bet you could pursue and achieve recovery just fine with questions like you have now
