Top-10.for.10.months
Hi All - Today I have been sober for 10 months. I wasn't going to post it (as it isn't really an official birthday), but I don't have a large group of people to celebrate with (as I don't exactly announce it at work) and I'm pretty happy about it -- so here goes.
What I've learned in 10 months of sobriety ...
My Top 10 for 10
10. A good night sleep does make lots of problems seem smaller
9. People don't care about whether I drink (or not) nearly as much as I thought they did
8. Your kids DO notice, even if they can't verbalize what they like about "the new Dad"
7. People I've met in sobriety are some of the most grounded and kind people I've ever known.
6. I can get a lot more work done at night and be quite productive
5. Thinking of others first is actually quite refreshing
4. A quick "Good Morning" to my higher power and a "Thanks!" at night doesn't get me kicked out of the Agnostics Club
3. That not having a hang-over does make you better at cooking pancakes
2. Sex is actually better while sober
.. and
1. That all this talk by old-timers about being truly happy isn't bull. Every day isn't great, but with the new tools I've learned, life is really fun and I look forward to each new day with wonder, excitement, and a chance to do some good.
Cheers SR. You are a great family to have. Thanks for your support.

If you hop an a plane and fly out my way we give monthly chips for the first year. My sponsor got sober out your way, San Diego, and he said they gave out 90 day chips and the next one he got was a year.

I'll go to your 10 months birthday party...
And I see from the above posts I'd have plenty of company.
Congratulations, me.
(I wish that "me" was really me...)
Let's have some sober fun, and why shouldn't 10 months be a good time to party?
Take care,
TB
