Day15
It's gone relatively smooth so far, although it was close this past Saturday. I was bored, and my alcoholic mind completely took over. I was dead set on getting a bottle of vodka and getting drunk. No real reason, I was just going to do it. I has no second thoughts about it at all; in my mind, it was a done deal.
Then my girlfriend called. I told her what I was going to do, and she began to talk sense to me. She suggested I go to a meeting; I replied that I didn't want to go to a damn meeting, I wanted to get drunk, and that was what I was going to do. Then she asked me if I had taken my medication that day (referring to the Campral). I hadn't even thought about that. I told he no, and agreed to wait one hour before getting drunk. I went home, took 3 Campral, and ate 3 sandwiches. In a very short time the craving was completely gone, and I had another day sober.
I'm so glad I didn't give in to the craving. It's nice to be here at work clear-minded and not nauseous.

When trying to describe to my psychiatrist how I feel after being sober for awhile, I told him, "In the mornings, I used to curse in the shower. Now, I find myself singing in the shower."
