Shame on me!
Shame on me!
OK, THE GRANDDAUGHTER JUST CALLED!
I said, where have you been? She said, "in the hospital!" Oh, so that's the excuse, just kidding!
She had baby early. He was born last night at 10:57. He weighed 6.5 and 19.5 inches long. Haven't decided on a name yet. She was in labor less than 3 hours.
She said thank you for the baby things and thank the Lord you were able to get them to me before he was born 'cause sure need the carseat now. That's sounds like a thank you to me, no?
Anyway, forget the poll! Should have waited one more day huh?
I still cannot imagine her living in that pig-sty with a new baby, or even an old baby!!
Well, my dear "old" friends, tell me how you all feel about being a great-grandma???
Hugs, Devastated

Oh, Dev!
Congratulations! :>)
Each child born is the promise of the world!
This one is no exception!
And great grandma, That's fantastic!
I have quite fond memories of my own great-grandmother.
She would make me root beer floats, and I'd sleep over her house, and stop over her house on the way home from kindergarden. Great memories.
And I have a picture of her holding my own Trevor, when he was a young one! Yes, she was a great-great grandmother to six great-great grandchildren!
He's a wonderful gift, this little baby that's now blessing your life.
Enjoy him.
Shalom!

Sounds like waiting was the best next thing to do Dev. You know now that she called you, and had good reason to be a little late.
Congratulations Dev...it doesn't surprise me one bit that you earned a great in front of your name

Congratulations Great-Grandma Dev!
Glad you got a thank you call. Hopefully, your GD is on the path to a better way.
Maybe even living in the "pig sty" will give her motivation to set goals and get her
own place one day. Praying for you and yours.

Thank you all for your congrats, and for forgiving me for acting like such a prima-donna!
I definitely jumped the gun here waiting for her to call; however, I just assumed (bad thing to do) that she was "using" me and totally misjudged her. Lesson learned!
Spoke with GD again this morning. She was so unhappy because the father of the child came to visit his new son, but does not want to get back together. In fact, to add insult to injury, he had the new gf there with him! OMG!
I told GD to just move forward and learn from past mistakes. I also told her that God obviously had a different plan for her, and to concentrate on her recovery and her new baby boy.
I'm trying to send a photo of him, but am, as usual, having a terrible time. I am going to attach what is suppose to be his photo, but if it doesn't show up, you'll understand. After all, I am a great-grandmother, so what do you really expect??? LOL
Here goes, fingers crossed, hope it shows up:
Hugs, Dev

Oh Dev, I'm just so tickled that the little angel has arrived.
Now see, all our worrying and second guessing just got us where it always got us...absolutely nowhere. Sheesh, you'd think we'd know by now.
So let's make up for it by sharing a chocolate caramel mocha cheesecake and picking names for the little fella.
I think "Dev" is a wonderful name, or maybe Johanne because that is a name that would never get him admitted to any gangs and one that tough guys would never befriend.
Big Hugs from Auntie Ann.

Hi Dev, Thats wonderful news and congrats on the lil guy. He's adorable and I bet you can't wait to hold him. Hopefully your daughter can be strong and get on with her life without the dad. Sounds like a yuck to me~~bringing the new gf to the hospital.....hug your daughter for me and have a ball with the new baby. Life does goes on. Smiles, Bonnie "and now you can forget about those thank-you " notes...LOL
Thanks everyone.
Isn't he so cute and pink??? I cannot wait to hold him. I think I will start lecturing him at age 2 about drugs, what do you think, not soon enough? LOL
Ann, what'd you mean makes us relatives? I always thought we were twins separated at birth, with you being first born. For this reason you are not only older, but wiser than I have ever been.
He was born on my favorite aunt's birthday too. He was due on the 15th of November, but probably because of all the stress she's been under he decided to get the heck out of dodge!
He was a good weight wasn't he? I mean, considering he was early besides. That's a good sign.
I asked her why she didn't call or get a pass that last Sunday, and she said she lost her pass because she got up from the dinner table without asking to be excused! OMG, sounds like a kindergarden rehab! I think they best concentrate on bigger things. They also took away her phone privilege. How ridiculous since she was graduating the next day anyway!
Ok, if I get anymore photos, I'll sure send them right on, now that I figured it out.
Hugs to you all
Great-grammy dev

Great grammy Dev!
I *like* the sound of that!
He is just sooooo beautiful and precious!
A gift and a blessing!
You are so lucky!
I *do* have to correct Ann, though....
(sorry, Ann),
When she said to name him:
Don't you remember Johnny Cash and
A Boy Named Sue!!!
Sue was one tough cookie
Cuz he HAD to be!
So would a boy named Johanne
No, no, no!
He would have to learn to kick the sh!t outta all the bullies that came after him!
And that would not be fitting at all for Dev's little pumpkin! LOL!
Best wishes for the mama, the baby, and most of all,
For Great Grammy Dev.
Shalom!
