We are getting ready to head out to my AS's first NA mtng....I am feeling a tad nervous, don't know what to expect, he seems fine, but will probably exhibit anxiety on the way there....I so hope no one there is "
God Preachy", as my son claims to be an atheist these days and would likely use that as an excuse to never go to another meeting.....

I would never have guessed, not in a million years that we would be doing this....life is full of surprises, isn't it?

I shall report back later on how things go....

Sarah, Let me just say "9 years ago I would never have guessed I would be going to Nar-anon meetings.......and continuing to do so"

Meetings are NOT meant to be religious, spiritual yes, religious no!

Personally the only NA meeting I attended WITH my AD, was an anniversary meeting for a friend of the family. Otherwise, she goes to her meetings & I go to mine.

Well, we got there and he informed me that he didn't want me to stay....so I spent a little over an hour in a parking lot, called another parent of an AS....

He got in the car and said it was "good".....he did seem quiet and contemplative, but I don't know what to attribute that to.....

Sarah, "good" is better than I'm never going back I'm glad that YOU called a friend, because WE need to stay in touch with our support system too!
