new at sober
Hi everyone...i've been sober for 43 days now....tried to write yesterday here but it wouldnt go thru. I was released from treatment about 15 days ago and was going to write that ive been kinda down and thought i would be happier than i am at this point, but today is better...i can see now getting sober isnt as hard as making the life commitment to staying sober everyday. But anyway i think this is a great site and its already helped me alot since I joined yesterday.

Hi jeff. Congratulations on your 43 days. I understand what you mean about thinking you'd feel happier. It was at that point that I'd end up drinking again. Don't be discouraged, be kind to yourself. It takes time to come back from all you've put yourself through. Learning to live as a sober person is something new to us & it's a process. I felt ok in the beginning, but so much better now. I'm glad I gave it time & didn't become impatient with myself.

Hi Jeff, and welcome! I think 45 days is a terrific start. I suppose that as sobriety becomes your normal way of being, you forget how awesome it is or how bad it was before. SR is a good place to be. Glad you're here.
