10 days free, and i'm understanding my favorite Elliot Smith song better than ever before. thought i would post it here, not as any kind of glorification of addicted condition, but because these words help me keep the whispering insidious voice of my addiction in perspective, thought they might do the same for someone else. I used to glorify myself with songs like that...how stupid, how sad.

Nowadays, I still listen to the same music, but without the glorification. What beautiful, sad music.

Music is a huge part of my recovery.

Formerly I related the worss to drinking/using.

Now I relate the words to recovery.

I used to often feel different than everyone else in the bar... now I know why... I don't belong there.
