Thumbs up TOPIC: This Sober Member Is Now An Endoresed Motorcyclist.

Hi Im Sharon and Im an Alcoholic.

By the grace of my HP and people
like you here in SR I havent found
it necessary to pick up a drink of
alcohol since 8-11-90.

For that and you I am truely grateful.

Never under estimate your ability
to do whatever you set your mind
to do.

This grateful sober alcoholic some
19 yrs later after a family entervention
sent me to rehab for 28days with
them getting me help when I couldnt,
is now an official motorcyclist with
her endorsement. YEEHA..!

Following the principles of my
recovery program set down
before me one day at a time,
I am grateful once again for
another awesome gift recieved.

I am now a proud owner of a new
2009 Red Honda Silverwing 650cc.

We will trike it out to be more like a
tour bike so i can ride more
comfortably and safely.

Now my husband and I's bikes
compliment each other.

Mr Harley Rider and his Lady Rider
side by side enjoying the rewards
of recovery.

Live to Ride. Ride to Live.

Thanks guys....much appreciation
from my SR family. Love You..!

I road from the DMV place to our
home this morning all on my own
following my husband. It was the
longest time spent or riding on the
"scoot-mobile"

To ride alone on a bike outside
in the open air with the cars flying
by and to feel the air and speed
was exhillerating.

Sort of like getting on some of
those rides at the amusement
parks. Maybe the rollercoaster
ride except ur not going that
fast...lol.....maybe the scrambler..
lol....whew...now that would
make me dizzy....

I think the high i feel right now
is the accomplishment i achieved.

My husband and I went to
Chili's to get a bite to eat and
I shared how awesome it is that
here at 50 I remarried, had total
left hip replacement and now i
get my Motorcycle endoresment
to ride something other than
a car........

And sober to boot....

Anything is possible at any
age. too. Right?

Elegantly Wasted.... I love that name...
It so reminds me of Inxs's song
Elegantly Wasted. I loved the group
and all their music.

Reach for the stars....reach for your
goal. They are gifts to admire and
enjoy and to be appreciated.

Thanks Anna....I will enjoy the freedom
of riding solo.....That independence of
doing something else on my own with
faith and guidance from Above and the
support of my recovery family here in
SR.

Thanks again my SR family.

Having this site to come to to
share my experiences, strengths
and hopes of things happening
in my life before during and after
alcohol has been extremely
rewarding to me.

I share here in NewComers regularly
because it is where i in my opinion
can help others the most.

It's a place i can share most aspects
of this alcoholics life with. It is here
that I can give hope to others just like
it was given to me all along the way
in my journey to stay sober.

What seemed to be hopeless or out-
of reach has either materialized or
has come true.

I share this with you because how
else will the newcomer know that
staying sober and incorprating the
steps in ur everyday life one day
at a time will bring you happiness
and joy beyond ur wildess dreams.

I should know because some 19
yrs ago I was trying to call it quits
with life and wanted to just die.

Of course my HP had other plans
for me and Im here today to share
my journey with you whether it
is good or bad.

Today is good and im grateful to
be sober one more day.
