The meeting is in an hour...
I am concerned about writing some kind of perfect reply because I don't want to make things worse...by saying something dumb. I don't know what, but, something naiive that someone new to Al-anon would say to an A for example.

Why do you have to reply immediately? Seems to me that if you need to think about what you want to say, you ought to take the time to think about what you want to say.
I get the feeling though that you want someone to help you write what he wants to hear. That won't work.

Go to your meeting and take your time about how to respond...or not respond. Now THERE is a thought.
Go to your meeting...and then a few more. It will be the best gift you give yourself.
