My plans are friends and family at the house today for BBQ (Teriyaki chicken) Lots of college football (Roll Tide!) and lots of drinking (Sweet Tea, Gatorade).

Everyone have a safe and sober 3 day weekend.

Since it will be raining in my neck of the woods, it's perfect weather to do some more packing for moving to my new place.....oh, that and an Al-Anon meeting this am. That's a priority.

Thank you so much, I really needed that!!!! Sometimes when I have time on my hands and it's a holiday, my thinking gets crappy. I think "he's out having fun, getting on the motorcycle, hitting all the festivals, probably has some hot chick on the back of his bike...yadayadayada, and here I sit, all alone". Let me think about reality....he's drinking about a gallon of vodka a day, if he has a chick on his bike, she might die a horrible death, he's waking up with DT's, his kids won't have anything to do with him. I, on the other hand, have lot's of sober friends, will probably hit some great meetings and picnics, hang with my son, pray, read, and talk to God. Huuummmm, perspective is a great thing!!!

Still Waters

Well, it was lovely at the beach, perfect weather. Kid found a baby rodent laying on the sidewalk, turned out to be a baby squirrel, no Momma in evidence after hours of watching him lie there (in between re-hydration feedings), so I was up every 2 hours during the night feeding and pottying the thing, only to have it pass away last night Poor little thing.

I have a horror of "raccoon eyes" so I refuse to wear sunglasses while I'm sunning on the beach, but I think I may have sunburnt my eyeballs a bit - they sting.
