My AH tells me daily to "give him a chance to prove himself", "time will tell,"
does anyone else get this repeatedly day after day all talk from the addicts in their life??? Seriously same ^&*% different day!!!!!!! Why bother saying it???

This is a really corny analogy, but as soon as I read your post, I thought....It's up to you as to when you decide to take the needle off the record and find a new LP.

They are all the same, they all want another chance... But how many chances can you give?

I got the same thing until I became a broken record and kept saying back, "Your next chance will come when you find sobriety." Eventually he caught on and doesn't even ask anymore. He and I realize our relationship will be if it's meant to be and that there are no promises to be made at this point. Any day, he can pick up and use. Any day, I can pick up and leave. We take it one day at a time and based off of his actions, we will see which way the wind blows. Until then he's reserved to taking care of himself and I myself.
