New to this site, but not to recovery
Hello all. I am an addict. My drug of choice is mainly Vicoden. My last use was Friday, August 21. I am going through the final stages of withdrawal, yet still feel miserable. I've been in inpatient and outpatient rehab, have been arrested a few years back for deception to obtain, and have done the NA thing. I have been most successful staying clean while working the steps of NA, but when I don't work them, I use.
I can't stand going to NA, though. I never make it very far in the steps. I think I resent NA because years ago I was forced into it by the courts. I don't want to go to meetings also because I'd rather be at home. I hate the way I see some members get addicted to meetings and I think it's pathetic.
I am hoping there are other ways of helping me stay clean.
Btw, I know I am being stubborn and close minded, but that is how my brain works lately.
