A Freudian slip, or parapraxis, is an error in speech, memory, or physical action that is interpreted as occurring due to the interference of some unconscious ('dynamically repressed') wish, conflict, or train of thought. The concept is thus part of classical psychoanalysis.
As a common pun goes, "A Freudian slip is when you mean one thing, but you say your mother."
Slips of the tongue and the pen are the classic parapraxes, but psychoanalytic theory also embraces such phenomena as misreadings, mishearings, temporary forgettings, and the mislaying and losing of objects.

I thought I hid my alcoholism pretty good, but most knew I was a drunk anyway, and the rest knew something was terribly wrong.
If your corncerned about your privacy hit the off button....or make sure the page is closed before you get up....

Hi SolarCircus and welcome to SR!
You can stop the cycle and get off the merry-go-round of addiction at anytime. Reach out for help!
Stick around to read and post as needed. Maybe start a new post and introduce yourself. You'll find lots of support and wisdom here at SR.

OK..on a more serious note--everyone>well mostly everyone around me already knew I had a drinking problem long before I had truly admitted it to myself. It was no big secret--although for a long time I thought I had kept it hidden....which I did for a while---but that soon didn't last too long once my addiction took over.
I am glad you are here seeking help for yourself. I pray you don't have to go through all the stuff I did to finally learn how to be honest. Keep posting and moving forward in recovery. You are not alone.

Sara,
Why don't you start over and tell us what is bothering you? I am pretty sure the site SR.com is not your core issue. We all have issues with addiction and/or loved ones with these issues. I am pretty sure we can help if you want help.

This is said with love....I think and I can B wrong, but U seem so angry, projecting this anger onto this board. We are all suffering somewhat and to different degrees. Share more....
This is just my humble opinion.
