Hello i'm new here!
I feel like it's time to face the demons. I haven't had a sober period from over 2 weeks since i was like 15 years old.
It's Almost 10 years later now and i feel time just flied by too fast. I'm still young, but there was a moment this week that really freightened me. I felt like if i would blink my eyes, another 10 years would pass, leaving the same emptiness behind like the last 10. It really got me thinking, so the decision is made to stop drinking and other stuff this very day!
I joined a gym this week (didn't went just yet) and joined this forum to keep me distracted when the urge is there.
I look forward to talk to y'all!

Welcome to SR CriseAbsolute 7 you have a lot of insight in your post, God I wish I quit when I was your age. You are right about time passing quickly & not moving forward in life while drinking.
Hang around & keep posting & sharing, we are all here for each other. It will be wonderful to read about your recovery.
Take Care,
NB

I'll second what NB said about wishing I had quit at your age (I quit at 44) and yes, times does fly. You don't want to look around when you are in your 40s and say "what the hell happened"?
Hey Crise, welcome to SR!! Good for you.
Just throwing this out there since it's my "thing", but I suggest working the 12 Steps and getting a sponsor. If anything the sponsor will keep you accountable and give you someone to go to when you need a vent or have a question.
The 12 steps are incredibly helpful in helping you get to and stay on the sober path. My best to you!!

Welcome to SR, CriseAbsolute! This is an excellent resource for you, while you try to figure out your relationship to alcohol and what you would like to do about it. There are a lot of sharp and caring and warm and helpful people here. You've found a good place here, and we hope you continue to come back as you figure this out. Be proud of yourself for recognizing there is a behavior of yours you dont like, and coming here to seek support. We're here for you always, friend. The journey begins for you today....!
Hello absolute.
That is my poison and I assume yours. I am 55 and whilst the decades are not all a blur I can detect, with hindsight, a gradual decline in my personality and in my relationships with people due to constant heavy drinking.
Good move to come here and I wish you strength and insight as you move forward.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! I know the next few months won't be easy, but i'm very determined.
I love reading about people who stopped drinking and experience the true beauty of what life has to offer. I'm sure i will need that to stay focused and determined to reach my goal.

Welcome CriseA ... I'm sure you will find, as I have, a lot of wisdom and inspiration on this sight. It's great to read/post during the good times and a godsend to read/post during the bad times. Congratulations on your choice and good luck!
