Red face Need help

Hello all~

I realize this isn't an original new thread, but I'm just starting out and need help. I plan to start AA tomorrow (ok, not my first time picking up a white chip).

I've basically lost two great girls, a once-in-a-lifetime job, an almost paid off truck, and an entire city (had to move), not to mention all the other crap that I've done and relationships I've ruined (or in the process of ruining).

I've also laid my cards out to those who know me, but I'm still sneaking around. I keep driving too, which really scares me.

Anywho, just wanted to post and get moving in the right direction and to see where this website leads.

Thank you all in advance who reply.

I believe myself to be right on the edge - only two possibilities going forward.

Please don't drink and drive Kjell.
It's not just your life you're risking.

AA's a good start I think - come back and tell us how that went.

I agree with Dee, please don't drink and drive, it's very selfish.

That said,

I'm really glad you've found us, we'll give you lots of love and support.

You mentioned you have two possibilities, what do you feel they are?

Kjell,

Look at your post. Read what you've already lost! Don't let alcohol take more from you.

You can do this.

AA is a good start mate.

save yourself and others more heartache and give you car keys to someone you trust for now.

im pretty hard line with drink drivers.......because i was a drink driver.
they threw me in jail in the end.........and im grateful for that believe it or not.

you think your lifes tough at the moment........you get a "death by drunk driving" conviction and your gonna know a whole new world of pain remorse and regret.

AA and the twelve steps gave me the ability to live life to the full without the need or want to drink..

im a simple man........that involved himself in a simple program of recovery.

i worked hard at it.......as hard as a drank...

you too can do this......and get your life back on track.

if i can help please pm me....anytime.

You all are, of course, right.

It's strange to me how it's ended up like this, as I'm sure it is to most folks.

I was always the "life of the party" and my behavior was tolerated and celebrated (and enabled), but no longer. I do take full responsability though.

I can already see the benefits(sp?) of this fellowship.

Thank you all for your replies and I look forward to knowing you all and getting well.

I'd love to report back tomorrow after another white chip.

...and which two ways do I have to go? Either I get well or something bad is coming.

Kjell

Glad you're here. You are completely in control of anything "bad" happening in regards to continued drinking.

I'm also on the 'dont drink and drive' train here, drink if you wanna, but for goodness sake stop driving!!

I don't use AA in my recovery, however lots of folks do.. whatever works, and whatever can help you has my vote for ya!

Welcome.

You have found a great place for support & understanding Kjell & we are glad to have you. Stick close & keep posting, this is a great resource but you have to do your part.

Lastly, please don't drink & drive anymore, you may end up like this Benson sentence believed to be one of the toughest in state - JSOnline

Take care & I look forward to reading more about your recovery.
