breakfast beer to bike rides

On my second day and I went for a 15 mile bike ride. I was pretty wobbly on the way out, the paths in the wooded areas are only about 8 inches wide....but alot stronger on the way home. It felt good although I thought I was going to have a head explosion on the way out.....it was pounding. It felt really good doing something "normal." Something other than popping another beer or pouring another glass of wine. I have done more today than I have in the last two weeks put together.

Thanks for your support all and lack of "judgement." I have spent alot of time here the last couple days and it has really helped.

Alcohol sucks and I suck at it. LOL.

I am a cyclist too, road... Towards the end of my downward spiral, the drinking started to get in the way... then in early recovery I was unmotivated.

Riding is so good for getting sh1t out of my head, working through issues, etc. I don't ride single track, so my mind can wander a bit, but that's ok... I found the hilliest route I could yesterday for 20 miles... I am starting to get back into some kind of condition...

For the adrenaline rush, it's whitewater or skiing. Two years ago we were out at Big Sky in your neck of the woods... nice country you live in... I want to go back...

I understand your screen name now... awesome!

Mark
